A Booming Industry and Franchise

Why franchise with Furry Land? The pet industry is one of the fastest growing industries in North America. Half of all households in USA and Canada own pets, which translates into over 70 million dogs and 50 million cats. In fact, Millennials are more likely to own pets than have children. Combine these statistics with the fact that the order-it-to-your-door culture has been growing over the last 10 years, and Mobile Pet Grooming is one of the best industries to find yourself in.

A Business You'll Be Proud Of...

Adrian From Furry Land

Our Invitation to You

Thank you for visiting the Furry Land franchising website.

We believe the Furry Land franchise represents an outstanding opportunity to be part of an industry that has and always will be in demand – mobile dog and cat grooming. But we’re not talking about a mere “mom and pop” operation. The Furry Land concept is a leg up from small scale ventures that offer limited hours and services. The Furry Land business model is based on numbers and the numbers are impressive. The pet industry is one of the fastest growing in North America, with half of all households in the USA and Canada owning one or more pets. There are an estimated 78 million pet dogs and more than 50 million pet cats in the United States alone and many of them are owned by millennials who define the “order-it-to-your-door” culture.

From clipping to bathing to de-shedding treatments and much more, if a Furry Land van arrives at the door, customers know their four-legged family members will be taken care of with efficiency, care and at an affordable price.

What started as a business with a single van two short years ago has grown into a nine-van enterprise with bookings weeks in advance. The Furry Land way has taken off so well in the Las Vegas valley region that we are now prepared to expand upon our concept by bringing the Furry Land opportunity to entrepreneurs across the country. You can be a part of this prospect by becoming a Furry Land franchisee.

Please read through the material on this site carefully. What You Need To Qualify

  • Minimum $60,000 Liquidity
  • 650 Credit Score
  • Drivers License
  • Management Experience, or
  • Grooming Experience (optional)

Do I Need To Know How To Groom?

One of the most common questions we receive is; 'Do I need to know how to groom dogs?'. The answer is no. This business can be either a management company or a grooming company, depending on your skillsets. We strongly recommend that business savvy individuals with management experience get into this industry. The management of multiple vehicles in a city can be a full time job and we encourage the company to operate seven days per week, which often will not leave enough time for groomers to do what they love.

Alternatively, for those who love grooming, we will help you find managers that will help excel the company and keep the day to day operations running smoothly.

Furry Land – going the distance in mobile pet grooming

The pet grooming industry has boomed over the past decade, with more and more dog and cat owners recognizing the importance of maintaining good hygiene for the fur members of the family.

The Furry Land door-to-door service delivers on the promise to give pooches undivided time and attention, all from custom equipped vans. Clients are spared the anxiety of meeting salon appointments driving in unpredictable traffic with an anxious pet in the car. Then add the benefit of a grooming session in a quiet, familiar setting…and having the flexibility of day, evening and even weekend appointments and you can understand why the Furry Land business model is top dog.

Furry Land offerings run the range from grooming, bathing, de-shedding treatments, nail trimming, eye and ear cleaning and even fresh breath treatment, all with speed and thoroughness in mind. The Furry Land approach to pet grooming combines efficiency with safety; everything needed is at hand, inside the van – from grooming tables to a hot water heater to ensure perfect bath temperature.

Many of our Furry Land customers in the Las Vegas valley have asked us why did we get into pet grooming? The simple and honest answer is it is our joy and passion. We want to hire franchise managers and groomers who feel the same way. Furry Land franchisees need to know from the get-go that the quality of our groomers has to be high grade. In the area we presently serve – as in other densely populated regions – there’s a lot of competition in the pet spa and grooming salon industry and in mobile grooming services. What sets Furry land apart is our ability to combine door service like our mobile competitors with a full spa experience, like our salon competition…with efficiency and at a moderate cost.

Who is an Ideal Franchisee?

The ideal Furry Land franchisee should have an entrepreneurial spirit, excellent customer service skills, a mind for business and a strong desire to succeed. But most importantly, we’re looking for people with commitment. The model Furry Land franchisees are full-time owner/operators with proven management experience who are capable of managing multiple grooming vehicles. We’re looking for someone with true entrepreneurial spirit – who will start their Furry Land franchise with two vehicles and be ready to increase to two more over the short period. We encourage Furry Land franchisees to operate seven days a week. We recognize that full-time management often leaves little time for groomers to do what they love – so for those franchisees who prefer to concentrate on hands-on grooming, you can elect to hire a manager to keep the day-to-day operations running smoothly

Frequently Asked Questions

1Do I need business experience to run a Furry Land franchise?
Business and management experience is a definite requirement in operating a Furry Land franchise, but it doesn’t need to be in the pet industry. To be honest, managers don’t even need to know how to groom. We’ve found that there are plenty of qualified groomers in urban areas, although fewer in rural regions. Part of being a Furry Land franchise owner is the process of continuous hiring; finding the right groomers with the skills necessary to live up to the Furry Land brand of excellence.
2Where should I locate my business?
The ideal locations for Furry Land franchises are densely populated communities, either urban or rural.
3What type of office setting do I need?
Furry Land franchisees can work from an office space if they like, but it’s not necessary. The mobile grooming model can be conducted from a small location, even a one-bedroom apartment. We do encourage having enough space to house a two month stock of shampoos and other supplies, which typically take up about a closet’s worth of space.
4What type of vehicle is best suited for a Furry Land van?
Vehicles can sometimes be a challenge as a high top sprinter van is necessary. It doesn’t have to be a big-priced Mercedes or ProMaster; Nissan and Ford make some great high tops, too. Furry Land vans must be outfitted with a full plumbing system, electricity and lighting, so things can get complicated. Presently, we’re looking into launching our own line of Furry Land vans, converted to cover all the services we offer. We can include Furry Land vans as part of our franchise program, but if franchisees prefer they can convert high top sprinter vans to Furry Land specifications or we can send them to a provider.

Why franchising? How does it work anyway?

We hope our Furry Land story has made you think of taking the next step and inquiring about one of our franchise locations.

One question you might have is this: “Why should I buy a franchise? Why can’t I just go out and start my own business?”

It’s reasonable to ask, and wonder “what if.” Certainly, some people do enter the business world in precisely that manner. So, what is the real value of purchasing a franchise rather than “going it alone”?

First, on your own, you might well experience a large “learning curve.” There are so many questions the new business owner might ask. “What kind of insurance should I carry?” “How do I market my business to customers?” “What type of vehicle should I operate?” “How many employees do I need?” The list goes on. And on. And on. Without the professional training, business experience, or connections it takes to succeed, it can be difficult to get a business off the ground. Many small business owners begin by hiring outside individuals with experience just for advice. Opening your own business independently takes time and money.

That isn’t to say that franchising doesn’t require time and money, also. However, as a franchisee, you enjoy many advantages that a stand-alone, independent start-up does not. You begin with the accumulated experience, know-how, business practices and operating plan that come with a franchise.

As a franchisee, you enjoy name-brand recognition and a network of support provides an immediate and distinct competitive edge over the independent, stand-alone business. You can avoid that costly trial-and-error period that causes so many problems for start-up businesses. As a franchisee, you’ll “hit the ground running.” The Furry Land opportunity gives you the ready-made framework within which to build a successful business. Let’s talk!
